Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution Research Institute was launched in 1996 to conduct research and train researchers on Imam Khomeini's life, thoughts and code of conduct and to introduce his viewpoints and the Islamic Revolution in various academic circles inside and outside the country.
The institute owes its existence to the farsightedness of the late Hoj. Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini and his interest in the ideals and thoughts of the late Imam Khomeini. This research and educational center was established through his untiring efforts and efficient management of Dr. Najafqoli Habibi. The research institute was established based on the Agreement in Principle Coded 5518/22 dated January 23, 1996 of the Iranian Council to Develop Higher Education affiliated to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and its Statute has been endorsed by the Minister of Science, Research and Technology.
