Introduction:
Since the Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution Research Institute was founded upon an initiative of the late Haj Seyyed Ahmad Khomeini in 1996 to conduct research on the life and principles of Imam Khomeini’s thought and on understanding various aspects of Islamic Revolution, as well as meeting the research-academic demands of the country on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution studies, research is the focus point of activities of this Research Institute. To that end, and to support research proportionate to the existing demands, the Research Institute also embarks on training specialized researchers. The Research Institute has arranged all its assets and capacities to facilitate implementation of research-based activities. In other words, the priority is always given to the research activities.
Objectives:
- Promoting research on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution studies
- Conducting studies proportionate to the academic-research demands in the aforesaid fields of study
- Promoting the research status of the Research Institute in academic and research system of the country
- Promoting the Research Institute to the level of an academic center in any study related to Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution across the country
- Training researchers specialized in the fields of studies related to Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution
Strategies and Plans:
- Designing and preparing research macro-plan of the Research Institute as well as deciding on the research priorities of the Research Institute based on its missions and tasks through short-, mid- and long-term programs
- Updating research procedures and regulations proportionate to the procedures practiced at the research centers of the country
- Creating required rules and regulations on qualitative evaluation of research works produced by the Academic Staff
- Promoting Research Institute’s relations with the researchers, universities, academic-research centers across the country and with the executive bodies
4-1- Formation of an academic-research hub and a center for exchange of views of the researchers working on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution as well as establishing connections with the specialized and innovative researchers working at the academic and research centers across the country
4-2- Creating an active and constructive link with other academic and research institutes and centers inside and outside the country based on pertinent rules and regulations
4-3- Conducting research studies on the demands of the executive institutions and organizations and offering required research services
4-4- Organizing domestic and international academic conferences and seminars in cooperation and collaboration with other institutes on the subjects related to the objectives of the Research Institute
4-5- Cooperation with other centers to establish academic associations to promoted studies on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution
4-6- Organizing sessions on theorization, criticism and review of studies on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution
5. Identifying researchers and experts with valuable works on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution, creating a databank of these experts, and inviting them for cooperation
6. Giving incentives to the academic staff of the Research Institute to promote their academic and research services, and support the qualitative and quantitative growth of their activities based on the existing regulations
7. Utilizing scientific and research capacities and capabilities of the students studying at the Research Institute
8. Enhancing the qualitative and quantitative levels of the academic products
8-1- Launching specialized academic magazines and promoting their quality
8-2- Producing textbooks for the related educational curriculum and extracurricular educational courses
8-3- Identifying best research works on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution and publishing them
8-4- Cooperation with printing and publishing centers for publishing works on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution
8-5- Employing university professors and most qualified experts for implementing research plans with respect to the research priorities of the Research Institute
8-6- Increasingthe fees of the research projects to create incentive and promote their quality proportionate to the tariffs of the Research Institute and those of the similar higher education and research centers
8-7- Increasing the number of approved research projects while maintaining their quality
8-8- Directing students to produce theses and dissertations that are capable of publication as papers or books
8-9- Granting fund to students for their theses and dissertations on Imam Khomeini and Islamic Revolution produced inside and outside the Research Institute
9. Control and evaluation of research programs and activities based on related standards and appropriate methods
Research policies and plans of the Research Institute comprising an introduction, five objectives and nine programs were approved at the Research and Educational Council of the Institute on May 28, 2007 and has come into effect since then.
